Ulyana Sergeenko

Russian photographer and socialite Ulyana Sergeenko’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection is nothing short of amazing! Although this is her debut collection, Ulyana is no stranger to fashion. Her personal style has garnered a great deal of attention from admirers across the globe. So, her foray into designing was almost inevitable.

The collection is whimsical and light, a perfect marriage of retro-femininity and timeless sophistication. Ulyana’s use of full-length skirts adds a certain degree of glamour to the collection and although they’re used heavily throughout, they  don’t overwhelm. Check out the pieces below as well as her personal blog here!

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) is currently underway in NYC and top designers-as well as several “newbies”-have taken over Lincoln Center. The event, which runs February 10-17 showcases the trends and collections for the Fall/Winter seasons.

Designer Jason Wu recently held his second MBFW runway show and the collection is definitely one of my standouts! “Ethereal elegance” is my way of describing the pieces. The construction and attention to detail rivaled that of industry veterans!

I’ve watched Jason as he’s matured from CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund recipient to his fashion week debut last year.  Having First Lady Michelle Obama don his works as well as  having his new handbag line in Bergdorf are just a few reasons why I’m sure Mr. Wu will go far in fashion!
